This painting emerged from a collaboration between the imagination of starry nights and my fascination with finding “devils in the details.” I wanted to capture the immense satisfaction of nature’s blues, their depth, variation and almost otherworldly beauty, while still preserving a sense of realism. From a distance, the painting can almost appear photographic; but the closer you come, the more the illusion gives way to brushwork, texture and imperfection. I love that shift: what first appears still and real slowly reveals an entirely different kind of life within it.
