Honestly, this painting remains unfinished, and I think that incompleteness is part of its story. At the time, I found myself slipping back into my earlier instinct for detail and accuracy, you can see it particularly in the buildings and throughout the landscape, where I became absorbed in trying to make everything feel resolved. In many ways, it represents the moment I was still learning to let go. I would, however, be very happy to return to it and complete it if the painting calls for it.
